Everywhere
Addelynn is definitely becoming a full time job. She is everywhere! I just had to take a picture of her mouth today after several attempts at shoving rocks, grass, dirt, and flowers in her mouth while playing outside.I wish I could have managed a camera and the baby at Bunker Beach today. In the kiddie area they have 5 water jets that shoot water about 2 feet up (or to the side). She just crawled from one to the next squealing and charging into them. She would put her hand over them and water would spray everywhere. She could care less that her face was getting drenched. She also crawled underneath them. Needless to say she was soaked after this, but happy as a clam.
Indiana
We are back from our week long trip to Indiana. We had a wonderful time visiting family. Our week was filled with numerous activities - spending the night at the lake, the 4-H fair, Swiss Days, and a night away from the baby to celebrate our 5th anniversary. These are my favorite pictures from the trip. I think the pictures show how much Addelynn adores her cousins. She is probably depressed this week as her only playmates are the dog and me.

Spaghetti
Her first meal of spaghetti (and broccoli and zuchinni and peaches and pears). What fun! Notice the noodles on her tongue? She really enjoyed the spaghetti last night for dinner, but not as much as leftovers today for lunch.

New Nuk
Apparently she's trading in her nuks for the octagon puzzle piece. Will this be an easier habit to break her of?

I can surely do this with a baby...
WRONG! Trying to pick strawberries with a mobile Addelynn was not exactly my best idea ever. I thought she could just ride in her backpack while I picked some berries. Apparently I was not going fast enough for the little mover. She begins to scream in the berry patch. Thankfully the lady put us in the row closest to the grass beside the patch. I thought I would just plop her on the grass with some toys and continue. WRONG AGAIN! She sees these red things dangling from the plants and decides she wants them. She crawls over and begins picking her own berries, smashing them with her hands, and putting them in her mouth. There is berry juice everywhere and I'm slightly concerned that 1)the berries have not been washed and there is all kinds of junk on them and 2)that she will choke because the entire berry was making its way into her mouth. After three times of me repositioning her and running back to pick a few more berries followed by a crawl back into the berry patch, I tried to bribe her with puffs. That worked for a while, minus the fact that the puffs were covered in grass and whatever else she touched in the berry patch. When the puffs were gone, we were done picking. I did have enough time to get close to 6 pounds though and my hopes are to make some jam tonight when Mark gets home.
The ride home too was marvelous. She was already on edge because we were approaching naptime. She kept throwing her toy out of the carseat and then screaming because she could not get out to crawl and get it. At red lights I would retrieve it for her and throw it back in. The screaming stopped until she threw it out again. I was ever so thankful when my singing of "Hush Little Baby" finally put her to sleep so the rest of the car ride was quiet. My, she is becoming a bear to take anywhere!
These pictures were taken after the conclusion of berry picking plus a few more bonus pictures of her brushing her hair.

37 Weeks (9 Months + 1 Week)
Interesting to realize tonight that Adde has been out of the womb now for almost as long as she was in. What amazing developments have happened over the last 18 months of her life.
Currently she is moving everywhere which made taking pictures of her today nearly impossible. You will notice that there is only one sitting picture in this batch. The camera was much to interesting to sit still.
Today we had a doctor's appointment. It's wonderful when your daughter screams and does her "hold my breath" stunt for the doctor. She was slightly on edge after she fell over backwards onto a metal plate in the carpet with Dr. Olson watching. (Can I insert that Mark was watching her at the time of the fall?) Dr. Olson followed up with, "Speaking of safety, have you baby proofed your home yet?" Apparently we need to as today she has been crawling around with her belly up.
Here are some facts about our 9 month old:
-16 lbs. 10 oz. and 27 1/2 inches long
-Eats fruit pieces and some vegetable pieces as finger food, especially if they are sprinkled with cheerio crumbs for easier pick up
-Bananas are still the favorite food
-Titus is still the favorite toy
-Loves swinging in outdoor swings
-Can say da, ma, ba, and na as well as squealing very loudly
-Holds her breath when she doesn't get her way or is told "no"
-Crawling around now and goes from her stomach to a sitting position many times each day
-Takes baths in the big tub now
-Finally has a routine that is fairly predictable!!

Finding the forward gear...
For several weeks now Adde has been "crawling".... but only in reverse. It appears that tonight she finally figured out how to shift gears into drive. Still flops to her belly and army crawls after the first few feet, but at least she is moving forward. Watch out Titus here she comes... (she has already chased him across the room several times now tonight)
Titus and Adde take a nap...
Here is the scene that Lana referred to driving home from camping last weekend. Everyone was sleeping, but I had to wake Lana up since I knew she'd enjoy this. For over an hour, Titus had his head nestled into Adde's carseat / lap.
