More Projects

These are the other two projects we have going on right now.

1. Finishing the kitchen that, yes, we started in April 2009. We are still not finished, but Mark made the doors, and I painted them when Mimi was here to watch Adde. Mark needs to put up the trim yet, and I need to add some decorations. Then we should be finished.

2. Building a shed/extra room/man cave in the backyard. It's coming along, but seems never ending when it means I have more time watching Adde! It will help us immensely though in uncluttering the garage and crawl space.
We are open for any volunteers who would like to come and help us finish these projects. :)

Project Central

We are scrambling to finish several projects before baby comes. One project is Adde's big girl/ladybug room. Thanks to Aunt Kimmy for helping me with all the "artsy" stuff. All the clothes, diapers, toys, etc. are moved to this room now. Adde has been taking naps in her big girl bed consistently for about two weeks now. Last Friday she started sleeping all night down here. Really this has been a non-event for us. She does not get out of her bed to fall asleep, and most of the time she calls for us and waits in her bed until we get her. However, this morning she got out and locked herself in her room. She does not know how to open the door, but does know how to lock it.

Brain Cells

I may not have many of them, but I did outsmart Adde for quite a while this morning. She kept riding me and covering up my head with "B". She kept invading my mat too. So I hid from her. She kept saying, "Where Titus? Adde find him. Adde not find him. Where Titus?" Adde went upstairs to look for me several times, but never looked in the house. I enjoyed those ten minutes of peace and quiet.

What's in the Diaper Bag?

Hmmm...we might be in trouble. Today I was reading some new library books to Adde. I checked out several "new baby" books. Perhaps I read a few too many of them. Midway through the last one, Adde ran off to find a baby and diaper bag. She instantly stuffed the baby in the bag, zipped it up, and carried it around while pushing the stroller. Supervision will be needed with baby sister!

And what do we do with this crazy hair? It is too thin and fine for barrettes or hair bands. It goes in all different directions and is all different lengths. I called Sarah for a haircut. We are scheduled for Friday. I hope she can help.

Saturday at the Movies

I just had fun taking videos the other day of Addelynn playing outside in her pool and running around in her suit afterward.

1. The new addition to the pool - the waterslide. This has been much fun for Adde and several friends. She goes down on her belly too.

2. Calling Kathryn to play. Every time she sees Kathryn or her house, she thinks she needs to play with her. "Kathryn play Adde," is what we hear constantly. I guess she was calling to see if she wanted to play. At the end she is telling me that she wants to do the "camera myself".

3. Twinkle Twinkle - I am finally getting some songs on video. This is her version. Maybe you can pick out a few words.

4. Fish Song - At class we sing this song that goes "All the fish are swimming in the water, swimming in the water, swimming in the water...". I think she was trying to sing that because she started with "all the fish" (which I didn't get recorded) and then finished with this.

Yes, she does cheer for herself at the end.

Adde helmet on

Adde informed us she should have her helmet on when we went for a bike ride. Glad that she knows this. We haven't taken a bike ride in a long time. It's not exactly comfortable for the baby. Adde is so cute though as she hangs on to the sides the entire time and just smiles so big.

Books, books, books

We definitely have a book reader. She can sit for a long time while someone reads to her, or she flips through a book and reads it herself. She's starting to recite the books too. We have heard "Bark George" and "There's a Cow in the Cabbage Patch" many times over the past week. I will do my best to record her "reading" sometime soon. It's just hard to catch her in the act.

Giddy Up

We now have several horsey options - Titus and Daddy. Someday I think it might have to be a real horse though. She informed me the other day, "Adde ride horse." Then proceeded to say, "Grandpa buy Adde horse."

First Pig Tails

Mimi attempted pig tails with Adde for the first time. They were cute, but lasted about 5 minutes. We just don't know what to do with her wispy, fine hair. Nothing seems to stay in it, and it seems to fly out of control. Someday it might be managable, except she does have her mommy's hair genes.

Spraying Duck

This was Adde's first time in this pool. She did not realize the duck sprayed water. I would like to note that I was running the camera, not the hose.
