Back in Minnesota

Today is our second day back from our Indiana trip. I am still extremely exhausted and have been taking naps whenever Adde sleeps. We had a great time seeing family. Here are a few pictures from the trip. Apparently I did not do a very good job with pictures this time as there are several family members who do not appear in any. Sorry!

Kitchen Update Part 2

So we are still far from finished but definitely closing in on 'usable and functional' again... I the Mutt and I have been slaving away for the past 3 days. (Steve-o also came to help yesterday with the big section of counter top). I also included a couple historical looks back.

I thought I quickly post these for Lana since apparently skype does not provide the required resolution to review my work from back in Indiana.

More to come.

Kitchen Progress

While I've got a few minutes before leaving for the airport (and the baby is still sleeping), here is what we've done on the kitchen this week.

Existing doors are finished and most are hung. We still need to decide on handles, but the two just to the left of the widow are probably "the winners". Painted the walls an olive green (looks kind of brown in the pictures...don't know how to change the lighting). All the new cabinet frames are painted. We are making progress, but there still is quite a bit to go.

There's the suitcase in the background. We are packed and ready.

Not for Grandmas

If you are one of Adde's grandmas, you might not want to watch. We will blame this all on daddy even though it really is Adde's idea as she throws herself backwards to be in this position.

Springtime Fun

Having some fun with the camera.

Kitchen Report 2

A bit too ambitious with my painting goal. We might have the cabinets primed (only) by the time Mark gets home. Things are taking much longer than expected. And Titus is banished from "helping" in the garage. The other night he snuck into the neighbor's garage and ate both bowls of dog food while their owner was heating up the gravy. Unfortunately that food was the last in the bag, so Titus donated his food to the neighbor dogs. I will say though that Titus is sleeping upstairs this week by the front door. Maybe he knows that Mark is gone and needs to protect his women?

Kitchen Report

Here's the current status of the kitchen...

We also ordered our countertops and sink yesterday. Hopefully when Mark gets home from Boston on Friday I will have the doors finished as well as the new cabinet frames. I figure that the paintbrush can keep me company while he's gone.

Definitely worth it.

Moving

Addelynn always seems to be moving. This morning she actually decided that she would roll over to her belly twice without any bait from me. In reality, I'm sure that she rolled over because there was no bait involved. The first occurrence was reaching for the deodorizing spray in the bathroom before bath time. I could hardly believe she actually went over. The second time was after bath time, and she was not reaching for anything - just playing with her socks. Since then, she has not even considered rolling again. Who knows when she will do it again. In my attempts to get this new feat on film, I captured a few other of her interesting movements.

First, I've noticed that she's been doing this weird thing with her back where she arches it up and then pushes. Perhaps this will be her version of crawling since tummy time is still extremely unpopular. Notice how big the belly looks. Really it is that big.

Second, you can see her just rolling and kicking like crazy. No wonder I could not sleep when she was in the womb. I really tried to get her saying her ga/da sounds, but she was not cooperating. So we got this instead.

Kisses

Here are some pictures from the "photo shoot" with Grandpa and Mimi. You can tell how much she loves being kissed. You can probably guess that she doesn't get many kisses during a typical day...ha!

Adde had a great time with her Grandpa and Mimi. Today after I fed her she was looking around like crazy and I think she was looking for those other fun people who were at her house. Unfortunately she could not find them. They must have worn her out because she took a 2 hour and a 1 hour nap already today.

Soon I will post pictures of the kitchen. We've made a lot of progress painting and Mark has built a few cabinets and rewired a few things. We're hoping in a month that we can be finished or at least close to finished. I'm excited that I think this means not much cooking can happen in the near future.
