It's been a while, not because I don't have these moments, but because I often forget before I get the chance to sit down and admit them on the blog. But today I am remembering a few from yesterday.
1. I would not allow my daughter to play her xylophone and "sing" at the top of her lungs a few feet away from her daddy who is sick and sleeping on the couch. No I would definitely keep my daughter in another room so that daddy could get some rest and get over this bug that he has.
2. At 2:00 am I would not accidentally get Adde's ear drops in her eye, forcing me to rush to the bathroom, turn on the lights, and flush her eye out with water. This did not cause any problems in getting Adde to fall back to sleep. If she would not have woken up screaming in the middle of the night, this would not have happened. And I would never blame a one year old for this incident.
3. Addelynn did not get almost as wet as Titus during his bath yesterday. I would never attempt to do too much at once...such as bathing a dog and chasing Addelynn around the front yard. Speaking of which, last week I did not see that Addelynn had crawled into the grass clippings in the backyard and dumped Titus' water on her while I was trying to pick up Titus poo. Water, grass clippings, and a baby equal one big mess and a strip down before being allowed to enter the house.

Birthday Party
We traveled back to Berne to celebrate Adde's early birthday with family. We had a great day celebrating. Addelynn sure loved being the center of attention while she was opening her gifts. We don't know where she gets this "performance mode" that kicks in sometimes. I'll let the pictures tell the story.
Family Fun
Perhaps funny is a better word than fun. Thanks Aunt Jen for trying to get our almost one year old to be still for a family photo!

11 Months
Well, I was only able to take about 5 pictures of Addelynn for her 11 month pictures (and I keep forgetting to have Mark help when he's home). So these will have to do. I guess they tell the story that she will not sit still and is in to everything. In every picture her tongue was out like this. Who knows?
A shot of her two teeth and a scratch from her fingernails.
Other things she's doing...
- Crawling up and down stairs. She knows to stop and back up on the way down.
- Chasing the vacuum.
- Going up and down the little slide at the park.
- Giving hugs.
- Doing "so big". Sometimes only one arm participates, but she shoots it high up in the air.
- Jabbering gibberish all day long. Still no words that are recognizable and used in context.
- Maybe starting to sign "more" in her high chair.
- Putting toys away into baskets.
- Standing independently for a few seconds.
- Taking a few steps behind her push toys.
- Getting on the riding toy herself and crawling up into one of her chairs.

Flies
Who would have known that a fly swatter could be so funny? This might possibly be the hardest that I have ever heard her laugh. We had to reenact for daddy when he got home from work, which is the footage shown below. Titus, you are about to be demoted again.

State Fair
Her first trip to the State Fair! She did excellent for missing a nap and being in the midst of thousands of people. The day started out sunny and cool, but got down right cold as the day progressed and the sun disappeared. That's why the hood and hat came out. She really was too little to do anything other than look at all the people and eat snacks. She seemed to enjoy herself none the less.
More fun
We had a busy week with Grandpa and Mimi. Rather than working on a project all week, we took Adde to some places we thought she would enjoy. These pictures are from the children's museum and the zoo. In addition to all the people and children, she did find other things she enjoyed watching and doing at these places.

Beach Time
We spent another afternoon at the water park, but this time Grandpa and Mimi got to come. Addelynn decided today that she would rather crawl on the concrete surrounding the pool than crawl in the water. Who knows? She also had a slight incident when the camera case was taken away to go back in the water. Needless to say, we just left instead:)

Museum
She loved her first trip to the Children's Museum. She wanted to crawl everywhere and see things like the big kids. I did take a chance and take a few pictures (without a breakdown even) to document the event.
