Today was Adde's four month birthday and four month appointment with Dr. Olson. After asking so many questions from a to z about baby concerns, I kept hearing the message that everything was fine and as long as things are working for Addelynn, then that's fine. If she's happy, then all my concerns need not be concerns. After Dr. Olson left the room, the conversation went something like this...
Mark: Now what did Dr. Olson say about Adde taking 45 minute naps?
Lana: That they're fine.
Mark: What else did she say about them?
Lana: That they're normal.
Mark: Didn't she say that 45 minute power naps are wonderful things?
Lana: Yes.
Mark: What did she say if Adde wakes up at 4 am sometimes?
Lana: That it's okay if your baby needs to eat in the middle of the night.
Mark: Do you still think our baby is a disaster?
Lana: No.
Thankfully she smiled at the doctor and was pretty good for her appointment. The shots made her scream, but that's to be expected. The nurse giving the shots noted that we have a strong fighter on our hands as Addelynn was kicking the nurse while her legs were pinned down.
To keep with tradition I took pictures of Addelynn in her 12 month onesie today. While trying to get pictures of her on her tummy, she rolled over three times almost instantly. Sometimes we can't get her to roll over and other times she won't stop. We're learning that our little one has quite the personality!
Another activity of today was naked play time (for Addelynn only!!). I read this morning that letting your baby play in her diaper is really good as she can experience a whole new world of sensations. When she woke up from her "power nap" I stripped her down and had her play on a textured blanket. She loved playing with the tags on her taggie blanket.
